Workshop Title: Workshop on Design and Development of Course Materials for Distance, Online and Blended Learning. (Virtual)

Workshop Objectives: This workshop was a follow-up to a previous workshop on the same theme organised by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Participants at the IGNOU workshop served as resource persons for this workshop.
The specific objectives of the workshop were to:
- provide a rich overview of the fundamentals of distance, online, and blended learning;
- discuss the characteristics and processes of design and development of course materials;
- strengthen the capacity of course writers to write acceptable learning outcomes and course units;
- discuss issues related to online, blended learning course design and development
- develop preliminary draft units within the workshop;
- build and integrate appropriate assessment tools in the course materials; and
- identify and integrate suitable OERs into the course materials.
Workshop Outcomes:
Suggestions and recommendations made during the workshop were collated and used to update the NOUN house style template. In addition, a blueprint template for course design and development to be used by course developers, as well as review templates for course maintenance, have also been provided.
