This webinar brought together global experts to engage in a critical conversation on gender-responsive leadership in Open and Distance Learning (ODL). The discussion explored how leadership practices, institutional cultures, and policy frameworks can better promote equity, representation, and opportunity within ODL systems. Drawing on international experiences, the speakers reflected on persistent structural barriers affecting women’s leadership in higher education and highlighted practical approaches for strengthening inclusive governance, mentoring, and institutional transformation.

Professor Ebba Ossiannilsson
International Council for Distance Education & Independent Researcher, Sweden
An internationally recognised expert in open, flexible, and online learning, with particular expertise in quality assurance, leadership, and digital transformation in education. She serves on the board of the International Council for Distance Education and has published extensively on innovation and quality in open education worldwide.
